I’ve always been intrigued by the story of Giotto, a 14th Century Florentine painter; an exemplar of confidence and skill.
A story: The Pope, looking for an artist for St. Peters, sent an emissary to audition candidates. When asked for a sample, Giotto dipped his brush in red and painted a perfect circle. Thinking he was being mocked, the representative asked for another more orthodox product but was told, "This is enough. It’s more than enough.”
Giotto received the commission.
Having been inspired, the parallel here is: My figures are round. The difference: I enjoy their imperfections.
